14 Eco-Friendly Finds for Earth Day 2014

Happy Earth Day!! I love celebrating the Earth’s “birthday” and what better way to do that then to try and do better by it? So go ahead, treat the Earth by treating yourself to one or more of these goodies that take into consideration their lasting imprint on you. Your skin is the biggest organ you’ve got so be mindful of what you are putting on and not just in it. Your body – and the Earth – will thank you!

(from r to l)

Scotch Naturals Premium Nail Lacquer in Canal Street Daisy – These alcohol themed nail polishes are vegan, hypoallergenic, biodegradable, cruelty-free, gluten, fragrance, toxin, paraben free. The 43 shades are all divine and super creamy.

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream – One of the first Burt’s Bees products I ever tried and I have yet to find a better cuticle cream. Once you put it on at night it stays put and doesn’t mess up your sheets. It also smells like lemon cake. Bonus.

Eminence Bright Skin Licorice Root Booster-Serum – The key to fighting dark spots is licorice and this organic wonder does not disappoint. It was the first thing my facialist started me on when she saw my hyperpigmentation and we’ve enjoyed watching the spots dissipate one by one.

Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Wash – It’s a mouthful but its worth it as this fights aging and acne at the same time. I’m a little obsessed with African Black soap and the woman who runs this company goes to Africa herself to seek out amazing ingredients that we are just starting to see in the western market.

Josie Maran Bear Naked Nail Wipes – These tiny wipes do everything a nail wipe should and more.  Even better, the company donates a portion of every sale to the Polar Bear SOS initiative so save their paws by saving yours.

S.W. Basics of Brooklyn Makeup Remover – Shout out to Brooklyn and their ability to take the guess work out of what makes a good oil cleanser. If you haven’t jumped on oil based cleanser trend yet, hurry up the L train’s just about to leave you and your poor pores behind.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Blemish Clearing Peel – The word “peel” terrified me till I met this game changer. There is an extra strength and sensitive one too.

Pacifica Stellar Gaze Length & Strength Mineral Mascara – Another great Goodebox find and I am SUPER picky about my mascaras. It’s also vegan and cruelty-free.

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes – Makeup wipes are kind of a part of my life as an actor, model and MUA. I’ve pretty much tried them all and I keep coming back to these. Their website is having a sale on wipes this month so stock up!!

Pangea Organics Pyrenees Lavender with Cardamom Lip Balm – An organic lip balm made with lavender. Enough said. Thanks again Goodebox, you’re 3 for 3.

Soapwalla Deodorant Cream – It took me months to find a natural deodorant that really worked – REALLY worked. PLUS I can pronounce all of the ingredients. SCORE!!

Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Castile Liquid Soap – This is an easy one BUT did you know you can also use it to clean your makeup brushes?!? It is a.ma.zing.

SheaMoisture Dry Oil – The latest from SheaMoisture is a lighter oil that penetrates the skin quickly yet still effectively moisturizes. Even better news – they finally have a website!!!

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer – The pinnacle of organic beauty. Thisis probably on every list you will read and with good reason. Even Jcrew carries it but today its 10% off with the code #rmsearthday on RMS beauty’s site so now you have no excuse not to try this eco-cult favorite.

That’s the list, loves. Hope you saw some familiar faces and got acquainted with at least one or two new ones. And do something good for the Earth today – she deserves it!
